This Cookie Policy explains exactly what Grit Board stores in your browser, on the website and in the app.
The short version: the marketing site at gritboard.io sets no cookies at all, and the app at app.gritboard.io sets only the cookies that keep you signed in. There are no analytics or advertising cookies anywhere.
02What Cookies Are
Cookies are small files placed on a browser or device. Local storage and similar technologies can store information in a browser. These technologies can help keep a site working, remember preferences, secure sessions, understand usage, and measure performance.
03How We Use Them
Grit Board uses browser storage for two things, and only two.
- Keeping you signed in: session cookies from Supabase, our authentication provider. Without these the app cannot tell who you are, so they cannot be switched off.
- Remembering your preferences on your own device: your theme choice on the blog, and your board and team-filter settings in the app, in local storage. These never leave your browser.
- What we do not do: no advertising or retargeting pixels, no social-media trackers, no session replay, no analytics cookies, no data brokers, and no selling of anything to anyone. Our product analytics are configured to run without storing anything in your browser at all.
04What We Actually Set
This is the complete list. If it changes, this page changes with it.
- gritboard.io (the website): no cookies. We self-host our fonts and run no analytics, no ad pixels, and no embedded third-party scripts. The blog stores your light/dark choice under "gb-theme" in local storage — it never leaves your browser.
- sb-<project>-auth-token (app, essential): your signed-in session, issued by Supabase. Sometimes split across numbered cookies when the session is large. Lasts until you sign out or it expires.
- sb-<project>-auth-token-code-verifier (app, essential): a short-lived value used while a magic-link sign-in completes. Consumed as soon as you are signed in.
- Local storage in the app: "gb-season-v1" caches your board so it paints instantly, "gb-intro-dismissed-v1" remembers you closed the intro card, and "gb-teamfilter-" entries remember your team filter. These stay on your device.
- Product analytics (PostHog): no cookie and no browser storage. Events are sent without persisting anything on your device, we never send rep names or performance numbers, we do not record your screen, and we honor your browser's Do Not Track signal.
05Consent
The only cookies Grit Board sets are the ones that keep you signed in, and those do not need consent: without them, the service you asked for does not work.
Our product analytics are deliberately configured not to set cookies or store anything in your browser — which is why you will not see a cookie banner on Grit Board. There is nothing non-essential to consent to. If that ever changes, we will ask first, and this page will change before the tools do.
06Your Choices
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the sign-in cookies will stop the app from working; nothing else we set can be blocked, because nothing else exists.
Grit Board also honors your browser's "Do Not Track" signal — with it switched on, we collect no analytics from you at all.
